Matic to Inter after United deal failed

Inter Milan want Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic after Man Utd deal collapses - report

INTER MILAN are keen to sign Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to reports in Italy.

Nemanja Matic has been a key player for Chelsea since returning to the club in 2014 - twice winning the Premier League title.
But the 28-year-old's place in the Blues starting XI is now under threat with Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko expected to oust him.
Antonio Conte is said to be keen to offload the former Benfica man and Manchester United were reportedly at the front of the queue.
However, after the Red Devils hijacked Chelsea's deal for Romelu Lukaku this week, the Stamford Bridge club are no longer willing to do business.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim Inter Milan want to sign Matic this summer instead.
And Inter chief Walter Sabatini is said to be negotiating with the Blues over a deal for the Serbia international.
The report says the Serie A giants are planning to overhaul their squad this summer with a number of midfield targets.
Also on the San Siro club's radar is former Stoke man Steven N’Zonzi and Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino, but they face competition from rivals AC Milan.
Speaking about his future at earlier this year, Matic said: "I am very happy because everything has gone well since what happened last season.
"I don't know if this is my best form for Chelsea, but I always try to give everything for the team.
"I have been doing that since the first day that I came here, sometimes I'm better, sometimes it's not enough but I'm very happy when the team is winning,"
Matic has made over 150 appearances for the Blues in all competitions and is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2019.
